Training at Fort Blackmore Fire Dept.: The Department practices fire suppression, water supply, appliances, first aid / CPR / AED, EVDT-driver training, pumper, tanker, wildland truck, and First Responder operations.  We Train on the first and third Monday night of each month, at 7pm.  Any citizen of our fire district, or elsewhere, is welcome to come and learn about what we teach.  We have an Instructor II that is certified through the Virginia Department of Fire Programs.  The following are examples of the lessons that are taught at the Department:  self-contained breathing apparatus, SCBA tank refill, PASS Devices, communications, fire suppression, ladder use, water relay - water shuttle, correct use of personal protective equipment, blood-borne pathogens, crash rescue, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training {taught via our insurance carrier and now approved by the Virginia Department of Fire Programs}, search-and-rescue, thermal camera, salvage & overhaul, assisting ambulance crews, on-scene safety, infrared equipment use,  and a host of other topics.  Please feel free to join us during Drill Nights or any night there is a Department event.
